Happenings 4th of July

We had a beautiful day today to celebrate!
I worked out in our garden a little bit this morning and Norm and I took off on Miss Honda Goldwing for a very much needed ride. What fun to see families celebrating and being togther enjoying themselves. We went into Gregory for the annual BBQ eating half of a delicious chicken, beans, roll, chips and a pop.
My sister had us for supper at 4:00 and later we relaxed on their porch for a couple of hours.....lazy afternoon really.
I did manage to get amazing pictures today to share with you tonight.
So here are some of them with a beautiful sunset. I hate to see this day end, it was so much fun.

These are mostly of my garden for this post. I was so happy the way these pictures turned out.
See this plant and what's in it? Look close, I actually had 5 of them in there. This plant is called Golden Alexander (Zizia Aurea). It is a native plant and provides food for the larvae of the Black and Ozark Swallowtails while providing nectar for other butterflies and bees.

Closer look just munching away! So pretty!

This plant likes full sun and blooms in the Spring and is a Prairie habitat species.

This beauty was on my purple coneflowers today.
I need to look in my butterfly book because I am not sure what this one is. Tell me if you know.

Tonights sunset!

Antique Mercantle coming right along!!!!

Back booth walls started going up today.

The Amtrack train is always exciting to see and hear.
We have this view right across the street everyday....so cool, especially since I have always loved the train. I grew up  a block away from the tracks in Brighton.

This view is the other side of the building. A summer jazz concert was going on last night and was awsome! Jenn plans on staying open later when special events are going on.

Last nights sunset

See how close we are to tracks and train station!!

I met one of our sweet vendors today ( Sue) and can't wait to see what she does with her booth.

Hope all you dads had a great Fathers Day.
I miss my dad everyday!!!!
So hug your dad every chance you get.

Sunflowers

I have always wanted to plant this with sunflowers so this year I finally did. It was sitting near my garden shed because it was sunlight all day in this area but had to move it near my house.
The deer decided it was a tasty treat so Norm loaded it on the tractor and closer to my porch where deer dare to stray. So far so good.

I can't wait to see how they look in a few weeks.

Weather here has been hot, humid and rainy but dry this morning for awhile so heading out early to cut the grass.

Yesterday we spent the day getting my booth ready and looking
really cute. I will share pics when it's finished.

Wow I can't believe I am approaching 600 posts!!!

~Have a wonderful week~
