Happy Hump Day/Painted Desk

Today was dandy! How was your day? I wanted to stop in and show you what my school desk looks like black.

And tonight after work I picked some tomatoes in my garden. The green tomatoes stay green...can you see the stripes? They are called Zebra tomatoes and very very good. I have been taking them for luch every day. I like to sprinkle a packet of Splenda on them . Not very big but big on flavor. I found them at Lowes this Spring.

I managed to set some gourds on my dough bowl for Fall and thats it. I just can't give up Summer yet. This week has been beautiful.

Saturday Estate Sale Goodies

What a beautiful cool sunny morning here today. I can't believe I slept 11 hours but did have lots of energy this morning. My sister called and said she would pick me up at 1:30 to go to some garage sales and I didn't even realize it but an estate sale was going on right down the street. The women who lived here was the sweetest lady, she passed away 2 years ago (?) at the age of 107. We went to her 100th birthday party. We went to her estate sale first and this is what bought.

Prim black Table, 2 old cutting boards anf Old Gray Speckeled Granite Coffee Pot. Now I will show you the smalls that I carried in the coffee pot...all for 1.00 a piece.

This 5 Gallon Crock was very nice. One of those purchases that your not sure about cause you have to think about it, then you kick yourself cause it's gone by the time you decide. Well we drove away in the van and got down the road and I told my sister to turn around, I want to go buy it. I think 95.00 was a good price, but didn't really want to spend that much but couldn't pass it up. What do you think?

This old desk I found last weekend at OLD US 12 yard sales. I am painting it a black milk paint. It will be for sale if your interested. 25.00... very sturdy. I am joining in at a garage sale at my friends on Saturday September 8th and it will be there. Webberville Mi. 5:15 already! Time to start dinner. Almost a week since I posted...geez that went by fast. Anyway this is a short post to show you what my husband does to me to drive me crazy and I know he sits and waits to see when I will notice. Ha Ha and it works every time. Fruit of your choice...banana peels, oranges, apples, watermelon rinds, etc! Oh well the bees like it. Oh and we can't forget the stickers that come on the fruit. Sticks them all over the leaves on the bushes. ~~Have a good night friends~~ Earlene

SPECIAL SATURDAY

We were up bright and early this morning to meet my daughters and grandkids in East Lansing at MSU for the annual JDRF Walk for the Cure. We got there at 8:30 and the walk started at 9:30. You could do 1 mile or 3 miles. We did thw 1 mile since it was already 83 degrees. Lots of events going on...Rachel and Lauren did the rock climbing.

Prim desk my husband got for me (free)

Didn't he do good!!!! And a red one...my favorite color to decorate with. I had to move my grain bin since this desk is pretty big but I love it. I need to put Brie Wax on it when I have the time. Apple Ladder

ANY SUGGESTIONS ON OTHER USES FOR AN APPLE LADDER? I

AM HAPPY WITH USING IT LIKE THIS IN MY YARD. I FOUND IT LAST WEEKEND I

WANT TO HANG THIS WINDOW FRAME ON MY GARDEN SHED. BUDDY WONDERING WHY IN THE WORLD DID SHE PUT THAT WIRE AROUND MY TREE? He thinks it is his scratching pole.

My New Arbor/Trellis

This is how Norm and I spent Saturday and Sunday. We didn't get started until 6:00 Saturday night and finished it up this afternoon. Thank you honey...I love it. I got the idea on the garden tour last weekend. We had to buy the posts but already had the rusty fencing. He did a wonderful job! Digging the holes and getting it level was the hardest part.
